hour group lesson per week. Rental skates are included for participants in the Learn To Skate Classes .Warm
clothing (coats, hats and gloves) and toe and hand warmers and some type of helmet are recommended for children
taking lessons,

- Basic 1-8
- Hockey 1-4

Rising Stars (RS)
Bridge Program: These classes are designed to follow Learn to Skate classes, so the levels are a bit higher. They also
offer a number of different classes a child may be interested in taking, such as synchronized skating. You may sign
up for more than one class. Each class has a separate fee. LTS skaters who are currently skating at level basic 3
through 8 and signed up for Rising Stars are required to either be in a current Learn to Skate class or be in taking
Private Lessons to qualify for the program. The Rising Star program is for the skater who is interested in learning
more about what competitive skating is all about. Rising Star classes have more instruction time and typically
smaller classes.

Private Lessons
There is no better way to improve your skating skills that with personal coaching and private lessons. Private lessons are typically, 15 or 30 minute one on one sessions taught by a BFSC approved Professional (Pro). The Pros at BFSC are independent contractors. Pro fees are in addition to ice time fees and are generally determined by the Pros credentials and teaching experience. See more about lessons on our FAQ page. See the Pros/Coaches section below for more.
Pros/Coaches
BFSC offer several different Pros who give private lessons, (as well as the LTS, Rising Star, and Hockey Skating lessons). They offer fees per hour, but you do not have to take hour long lessons each time. If you are interested in private lessons, information pamphlets are available from each Pro. You should discuss with them what your needs/interests are, and then choose a Pro and begin lessons if this is your choice. Arrangements are made with the Pro on lesson times and days. See the coaches page for more information.
