Ice Fees, Packages, and Time
Public
During this time, you will share ice with the public. This requires no membership. A weekly schedule can be found at Ice Schedule page. During public ice time, anyone can skate and there is no limit to the number of skaters that can be on the ice. Private lessons are not taught during public ice time because it is difficult to practice jumps, spins and moves in the field due to the number of skaters. Fees are posted and dropped inside the yellow canister. If the skate rental is open skates can be rented for an additional fee.
Club Ice
Freestyle Sessions A freestyle session is ice time designated for skaters who wish to practice their jumps, spins, moves in the field and competition programs. A skater’s competition music may be played for practice on a first come first served basis. Spins are generally practiced in the center of the ice. The corners of the rink are known as the “Lutz corners” as this is where skaters do a jump called the Lutz. You should not spin or stand in the Lutz corners. Dance patterns are done around the perimeter of the ice. This is private ice that is used by BFSC (Bozeman Figure Skating Club) members. Rising Stars and also BFSC members can buy package ice times in order to skate on private ice times. The packages offer a discount in prices per number of times you use the ice per week. Most ice times are early mornings, before school, but we also offer a Friday early evening and a Sunday afternoon time. These two club ice times are shared with Rising Stars classes, so there may be club members sharing the ice with Rising Stars classes. Packages are offered through out the year.
Ice Packages
You may pay for your freestyle ice in advance, session packages are sent out prior to each session. However, once a session is paid for there are no refunds or changes made in the schedule of the sessions. For current information click Ice Packages information and registration form.
Ice purchased Daily
Every skater must pre-pay for each session before entering the ice. If you don’t buy your ice time in advance, the following rates will apply:
